When Ajax leaves him in a burning building, Deadpool spends the next year training to track and kill him. Wilson is experienced by Ajax (and his partner in villainy named Angel Dust, played by Gina Carano) and becomes a mutant, blessed with enhanced powers of combat and regeneration. A mysterious recruiter (Jed Rees) offers Wilson a deal: try the Weapon X program (which created Wolverine) and save your life. Wade and Vanessa appear to be leading the way to Happily Ever After when Wilson is diagnosed with advanced cancer. We meet two key characters in Deadpool's life: his girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and his best friend Weasel (TJ Miller). We learn that Deadpool was a mercenary named Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds). Most of 'Deadpool' takes place in flashback after an opening sequence in which Deadpool destroys a convoy carrying his nemesis, Ajax (Ed Skrein). Supported by a very clever script, Deadpool is deliciously irreverent, subversive and uproariously funny.The movie version of Deadpool will remind you over and over again, often during the fourth wall breaks, how much those rules don't matter to him. In fact, what elevates this movie to another level is not just the snarky one-liners, but the plethora of cross-references to a lot of other superhero films as well. He surely has come a long way since 2011вЂ™s very ordinary Green Lantern. While the rest of the cast is suitably funny (donвЂ™t miss the fantastically-named Negasonic Teenage Warhead, played by Hildebrand), this really is ReynoldsвЂ™ moment in the sun all the way. And when both Wade and Weasel share screen space, theyвЂ™re a laugh riot. WadeвЂ™s buddy Weasel (Miller), a barkeep, is also his wingman. While their brand of romance has to be seen to be believed, their chemistry manages to be downright kinky to say the least, but delightfully enough, very real. And then thereвЂ™s WadeвЂ™s girlfriend, the feisty Vanessa (Baccarin) who is as messed up as he is.

We find out about how Wade Wilson came to be a superhero via a series of jump cuts, flashbacks and oodles of humour.

This results in the kind of viewer involvement that is both endearing and extremely refreshing. For one, it breaks the fourth wall вЂ“ that barrier between the film and the audience. While there has been no shortage of comic book hero adaptations into film in recent times, Deadpool is one with a difference. In fact, it wouldnвЂ™t be wrong to say that it is a much-needed shot in the arm for the superhero genre in general.
